FAQs / Clarifications and Bug Reporting
PLEASE NOTE: I am not looking for suggestions to change these decks.

Decks I post on this mod have gone through months of playtesting. I'm happy with how they play. The only changes to the decks after release will be to fix bugs. If you really want to criticize my decks' balance, I'll take that into consideration for future decks, but I will not make any changes based on suggestions given years after the decks have been finalized.

FAQs / Clarifications - Please read before reporting a bug

The Invincible Gold Dragon issues

Gold Dragon's new variant has some problems. These are engine limitations and need to be fixed by Handelabra:

The Invincible Gold Dragon should not be used in Oblivaeon mode

Gold Dragon's variant has a lot of unexpected behaviour, such as switching to the wrong dragon character card. I recommend not using it in Oblivaeon mode.

The Invincible Gold Dragon appears twice in the new game screen and in the bio screen

This is actually me working around a bug that shows the Dragon Character card as a separate variant. Don't worry, trying to start a game with the 'disguised' Dragon Character card will start you out in Human form like normal.

Damage dealt to Gold Dragon in multiple instances at once can end prematurely

Suppose Progeny uses Elemental Outburst, dealing 1 Fire, 1 Lightning and 1 Cold damage to Gold Dragon. The Fire damage switches him from Dragon form to Human form. The rest of the damage will disappear, when it should continue hitting Gold Dragon.

Unfortunately, this is another engine issue. There's nothing I can do to fix it.

Other issues

I ran into an issue involving one of your cards and a card from another mod!

Mod-to-mod compatibility is going to be tough for all mod creators. I'll do my best, but there may be nothing I can do, because either the issue is in the other mod and my cards are working properly, or there's an issue in the engine.

NOTE: Intriguing Comics includes a variant of Gold Dragon. Any issues with that variant should be reported to n998877665544332211.

Gold Dragon's "Dragon's King Roar" looks overpowered, or didn't do what I expected!

A lot of people miss that Dragon's King Roar only prevents damage dealt by non-hero targets during the turn its power is used, not the entire round. It's mostly useful for preventing retaliation damage, like Baron Blade's Backlash Field.

What do the different control options mean for Gold Dragon's "Diving Save"?

Diving Save can be destroyed whenever a target would be dealt damage. Normally, this is only useful when a hero target would take damage, but in rare situations, you may want to use it on a helpful environment target, or a villain target like The Dreamer.

In the physical game, or on Tabletop Simulator, this isn't an issue. However, the digital game stopping to ask the player whether or not to destroy Diving Save every time a non-hero target would be dealt damage is really annoying. That's where Basic Control comes in. If you're not fighting The Dreamer, you can probably use Basic Control and avoid any issues.

Keep in mind that the control option affects every Diving Save you play for the rest of the game.

What happens if Gold Dragon changes to his other character card in the middle of playing a card with different modes depending on his character card?

Most of the time, Gold Dragon's cards will stay in the mode that he was in when you played them.

o Switching to Dragon mode during Expensive Dinner and Sign Autographs will NOT prevent the card from taking effect, since you will have already passed the line that says "this card has no effect".

o Switching to Human mode during Expensive Dinner and Sign Autographs is impossible, since the very first line of text will end the card's effect without doing anything.

o Switching modes during Shimmering Scattershot will not change what targets he deals damage to, since the the number of targets is determined before he begins dealing any damage.

Does Tsukiko's Grand Finale require ALL suits, or ANY suit?

All suits! It's a grand finale, it's designed to be played in the endgame.

How does Escarlata's Roast work when used by Escarlata: Firedancer?

Roast's Passion text reads "[HERO] deals up to 2 other targets 3 Fire damage each". Normally, 'other targets' refers to 'any targets except for the one you damaged with the first instance of damage from Roast'.

However, "[HERO] deals up to 2 other targets 3 Fire damage each" is still valid Sentinels text. It just means that [HERO] deals up to two targets other than themselves 3 Fire damage each.

Please reply to this topic with any issues you've found while playing this mod. Be as specific as possible so I can try to recreate the situation to test it.

This isn't strictly speaking a bug, but it's something that could be improved. In OblivAeon mode, if The Battle of Heat is in a battle zone with no heroes, it still asks if someone wants to take damage. It should probably just show a message saying that there are no heroes. I'm not sure if any other contests do the same thing.

Also, The Battle of Heat is missing micro card art
Tesla Coil  [开发者] 2021 年 10 月 26 日 下午 8:58
I've fixed the missing micro card art. For now, I'm going to leave the behaviour as is - Magmaria's Smoldering Crystal is very similar to Battle of Heat, and it handles its damage in the same way Battle of Heat does. I'll do some experiments with Magmaria and Alesia in Oblivaeon and see if anything looks wrong.

Thanks for the report!

Just noticed Silhouette was added, and I was wondering - should Black Iron Maiden's power allow you to choose to deal yourself 0 damage? (currently it only allows 1-5) This would be useful when playing with Legacy or other damage buffs, but I don't know if it's consistent with other similar cards.

Weirdly enough, this is consistent with the rulings for Sacrosanct Martyr and any other cards that deal "up to" some amount of damage. If you're choosing a number "up to" anything and the number isn't for damage, you CAN pick 0, but if it's damage, you can't pick 0. ...I don't get it either.

Does Silhouette count as a vampire for the 'Court of Blood' cards?

Does Silhouette count as a vampire for the 'Court of Blood' cards?

Sadly, no. In the same way that Omnitron-X isn't a Device, Sky-Scraper isn't a Thorathian, and Tempest isn't a Maerynian, Silhouette doesn't have the Vampire keyword. (But I DID consider adding it!)

Mechanically, the big reason why I couldn't justify it was Dowager Ilona. She states that whenever a Vampire deals damage to a character, that Vampire regains 2 HP. Silhouette's whole shtick is dealing herself damage, so Dowager basically cancels out the cost of her whole mechanic. It's a bummer that Silhouette can't heal through Unhallowed Halls, but for the sake of game balance, it had to be done.

Thematically, the canon Sentinels vampires work quite a bit differently than vampires in the New Granwall Guardians. The vampires in the Court of Blood are more "blood mages", but Silhouette is an old school Dracula-style vampire. Their magic may not be compatible. Silhouette is also a heroic vampire, so she and the Court of Blood wouldn't get along very well.
