am I doing something wrong? Because Evolapis is just unreasonable
Currently sitting at 505% damage and 88 armor, using the absolute best weapons I can get my hands on at this stage of the mod, but he kills me in around 2 hits and I barely do any damage to him.

Same. It feels unreasonably hard.

My solution was cheesing with stronger weapons that I happened to stumble across from a different mod
which I really didn't *want* to do, because this is an arcana-focused playthrough.
But besides the near one-shots, the boss was generally just really annoying..His arena can be destroyed so it can make for some awkward terrain; and he doesn't reset his position if he kills you. So if you happened to die in the air somewhere, you're gonna have to try to find him wherever he plopped himself down in the sky.

Several months late on this, but I've been having the same problem with both Evolapis and Cosmo Nemesis. I've been using gear made from Illuminated Star planets so I should think I'd be up to date. It seems prudent to build up a resistance to whatever element they use. For example, Animus armor gives fire resistance. When I tried fighting Nemesis with Animus armor...well, I still couldn't beat them at all. But I wasn't instantly one-shot.

Morphosis armor seems to be the same case- it resist poison damage, which is what Evolapis deals in. The problem is they both still do absurd damage either way.

appreciate your input regardless! I actually considered his element and had a few poison resistance buffs, but I'm not sure if it was stronger than what Morphosis provides. I'll have to test it on another playthrough.

Had similar problems with Cosmo. I was actually completely immune to his fire damage, but he deals such absurd contact damage that it would kill me in 1-2 hits max, and at like 10% HP he goes into an unending slam mode where he just charges into you over and over leaving no almost opening to attack back. I had to go get some new overpowered mods just to have enough health to tank the hits, and still spent most of that stage dodging and healing.

Compared to the near 0% threat he posed for 90% of the fight, it was simply absurd.

Admin mode is the best way

I managed to beat Cosmo Nemesis via admin mode. I'm not proud of it, but I'd stopped playing for months because of how much it was a roadblock. The fight still took forever even with it on, so I do hope they rebalance the fight a bit more.

With access to the next tier, I'm starting to notice another problem that might have something to do with how unintentionally difficult the bosses are- this mod seems incredibly allergic to giving you defense.

The armors sets are cool and I like how varied the bonuses are, but I don't think they measure up to the raw stat increases they should have. I'm currently wearing a full animus set and even in the tier of Superstorm Stars I'm only seeing pitiful increases in defense. Like, pitiful as in a single point or two. Health, energy, and damage bonuses are plentiful which is nice, and like I said I like how each set has different utility. But I could barely put a dent in the required bosses to go past Illuminated Stars with the best equipment that tier could offer. This isn't boding well for the next boss required for progression.

I'm not a gaming stats person or a minmaxer but I'm guessing tons of HP isn't always going to be enough to offset increases in enemy damage. The rest of the mod has been fantastic so I honestly don't know what's going on here. Either something has accidentally been left unbalanced, or I'm somehow being expected to be a combat expert in a game with lackluster combat.
