which I really didn't *want* to do, because this is an arcana-focused playthrough.
But besides the near one-shots, the boss was generally just really annoying..His arena can be destroyed so it can make for some awkward terrain; and he doesn't reset his position if he kills you. So if you happened to die in the air somewhere, you're gonna have to try to find him wherever he plopped himself down in the sky.
Morphosis armor seems to be the same case- it resist poison damage, which is what Evolapis deals in. The problem is they both still do absurd damage either way.
Compared to the near 0% threat he posed for 90% of the fight, it was simply absurd.
With access to the next tier, I'm starting to notice another problem that might have something to do with how unintentionally difficult the bosses are- this mod seems incredibly allergic to giving you defense.
The armors sets are cool and I like how varied the bonuses are, but I don't think they measure up to the raw stat increases they should have. I'm currently wearing a full animus set and even in the tier of Superstorm Stars I'm only seeing pitiful increases in defense. Like, pitiful as in a single point or two. Health, energy, and damage bonuses are plentiful which is nice, and like I said I like how each set has different utility. But I could barely put a dent in the required bosses to go past Illuminated Stars with the best equipment that tier could offer. This isn't boding well for the next boss required for progression.
I'm not a gaming stats person or a minmaxer but I'm guessing tons of HP isn't always going to be enough to offset increases in enemy damage. The rest of the mod has been fantastic so I honestly don't know what's going on here. Either something has accidentally been left unbalanced, or I'm somehow being expected to be a combat expert in a game with lackluster combat.
