Trail tool to add trails, and to disable gravity for a prop you use either physical properties tool, or hold C and right click on the prop and disable gravity for it.

Step one: grab a prop (any) step 2, get the tool "Physical properties" and de-select "enable gravity" apply to prop. then get the trail tool. and add trails to it! thats it. enjoy. add me on steam if my solution didnt work.
