For the asteroids, the placement and size of the ore spots are static and cannot be changed. What changes is the relative frequency of each ore appearing. If you set Iron to 2 while leaving the others alone, Iron will be twice as likely to appear as in vanilla in asteroids (compared to the other ores). Setting any of the asteroid ores to 0 will remove them from appearing at all. If you want the ore spots to be more valuable, you can try increasing the <OreYieldMultiplier> for specific ores to make each deposit contain more ore overall.
For planets, the depth multiplier is multiplicative, so 90 will probably extend all of them to the planet's core. You may want to try somewhat smaller values unless that's intentional.
