if not would you mind running "add_trait magic_potential_3" in the console? if that doesn't give you the magic talent trait it means the whole mod glitched out.
should I still do the unsubbing and resubbing or is there the possibility the current version has a bug?
I managed to get it to work again from Paradox. I had to manually download the mod. In the launcher I went:
Mod Tools > Inserted a name, version, directory (i.e. mod/pdx_1) and ticked any tag > Clicked 'Create Mod' > Copied the contents of 'Ancient Magic' folder to the new pdx_1 folder (overwriting the descriptor.mod)
When I launched the game the option to gain the trait was back.
Okay, didn't tried this so far - but I am going to. Thank You :-)
I also found that I cannot click the first and last lifestyle tree.
