1. Your observations are correct, why you have no GPs is unclear. I didn't have problems like that in canon Baaili runs, but the latest one was quite a while ago, before the recent update.

2. Again, my information may be outdated, but there is no game mechanic for that. In theory though, I would not expect it to work on NPCs. Turning yourself into Baali at certain level of curruption, yes. But taking complete randoms into fold would be a bit of a stretch even by Baali standards, no?

Well it's 1400 now and I'm definitely not getting any Great Person events. Luckily I had the Strohmann event shortly after creating this discussion so I at least have one decent player heir.

I'm also unable to turn other vampires into Baali but at least I can turn them into infernalists.

Pretty sure Great People are based on location. You might be in a region where no Great People have been added yet.

That's 3 GPs for his Greece/Asia minor region he talks about. Given that he got Strohmann's event, he is Byzantine region alright, but GPs are not.

Wether that is intended or not I can just rp that a Baali wouldn't go for a GP because that would draw too much attention to him/her since multiple Clans/individuals have interest in that person and one would have to directly oppose them.

The way it's defined, Krete is not part of world_asia_minor nor of ghw_region_mainland_greece, two regions where Byzantine GPs are spawned.

It is however part of world_europe_south_east, which is geographical prerequisite for Strohmann's event.

So, kinda yes. Your plan has worked, you did not attract their attention.

I have now tried three different vampires. All three non-custom. In three different parts of the world. All with different faiths, none of them Baali. I am getting zero great person pop-ups. I also did not get the Black Death event on the one vampire that I played until 1400 AD.
idk.. I have not played this mod in a while but I using the same exact mod list as before and I had no such problems before.

I have heard bad things about Steam Workshop handling when mods have to be updated, especially large ones like POD. Could it be that when the mod was undated files dealing with Great Persons and the Black were not updated?

Ok, I turned off all mods except for POD and I got great person pop-up. So the problem is not with POD. It must be conflicting with another mod... that... grrrr... it not before.

Ooooh. Yeah I did that because most of my neighbors were much stronger than me and everybody hated me thanks to Via Diabolis and the Baali dynasty modifier. It was already a rather difficult task to get Krete as a whole and then become independent from the Giovanni.
But now I managed to conquer Cyprus, does that give me access to GPs?

Nope.

Ghw_ regions set targets for Great Holy Wars, Crusades etc. So this division leaves alot of gapes and is fairly inconsistant with world_ regions that actually cover whole world.

Ghw_region_mainland_greece includes just Epirus, Athens and Thessalonika kingdoms. Where world_europe_south_east contains those three, but also Krete, Cyprus, Serbia, Bulgaria and Croatia. I.e. all European territory of the Dream/Byzantine.
