I can't fix PHALANX's hack in Chapter One in a way that I want to, because there's no way I can anticipate a player deciding to forkbomb themselves without locking the entire damn terminal which is very obnoxious to do. You're still able to progress regardless, because your mission was to get all the tools from the cache system; you'll just be stuck without a memory view.
I just tested it, so I'm unsure of whether or not this is fixed in an unreleased update. Find the process ID of the Sequencer using ps, and then kill the Sequencer process. Then just activate the Sequencer again. I have an easy solution that will let you skip to the second chapter, but I want to make sure beforehand!
After reinstallation it did what it should. Now I'm just stuck :)
