IMPORTANT: Bug Reports
Hey everyone. This thread is for you to report any bugs you encounter while playing through the extension. Please post a detailed description of the bug and where in the extension it is encountered.

Also, before posting, please make sure the bug hasn't been posted before, or isn't one of the known bugs listed in the Known Bugs thread. I will make sure to get to each of these as quickly as possible, but please note I may not always reply.

If you dont scp the phone files of tutorial in order it doest auto upload and it breaks.

The goal are meant to load when you connect to each phone, and aren't loaded in any particular order, so this shouldn't be happening. I'll investigate more on my end to see if I can replicate this.

First mission, downloaded all three files, nothing happened. Only two of the files updated the case file.

Strange. Did you happen to switch phones while downloading another? That would unload the mission for one file download and load another one.

Stuck right at the beginning. Downloaded Mr. Goodwin's mmssmm.db and it updated the case file. Nothing else happened. Downloaded the other two mmssmm.db's from the other respective phones. Nothing happens.

Read the above reply. The way Hacknet works is that each download is loaded individually for each phone -- there's no way for me to have all the download goals loaded at once and have each of them run a case update. Each mission is looped so they should load every time you connect to the phone.

Can concur, the same happened to me regarding the first case. I know what I did was login to each phone THEN download the files. Could that have done it?

That might've done it, but I'm not sure how that would've affected it -- I'll do some more digging on my end to see what's causing that if anything. It's possible this was a slight oversight since while testing, I primarily downloaded the files immediately after gaining access to the phones. Thanks for the report.

Here's another bug I just found: Replying to any email, from any address, will act as though you replied to G. I accidentally locked myself out of the first real case by replying to Mashun edit: I meant Mahler, thinking MAYBE I could bait him out a little further.

Yeah I don't even know what to say to that, lmao, that's a Hacknet thing right there. Because of how all the goals and stuff are loaded, you should just be able to connect to another computer and continue with the mission.

Actually, the issue was that doing so closed the case. I wanted to keep searching for evidence. In my panic to beat the auto-save (I didn't), I also managed to bug the display such that the mid-case animation of the guy getting convicted continued to display over the work area. I should've taken screenshots.

I brung this up in the comments, but the bank in the first case has two empty accounts, listed as #04 and #15.

Thanks! I probably won't push an update immediately because you would have to restart all over again because of how XML works. I'll wait until I get some more fixes in.

I am on the third case with the police victim. Case ET-5 in the database is corrupted and I can't tell if it's a in-fiction error or an actual game engine error because the error code is similar to when extensions fail to load in hacknet/unit.

On the same case above I'm feeling pretty stuck. I found the GPS log on Ingrid's phone and I got an email from G that says I hit a dead-end. I have no other leads to follow. I can upload various files to the forensics server but I'm not getting any hits. Redownloading case file ET-5 just causes more SMTP overflows in my inbox and the case file itself vanishes so I can't upload it. I've peeked at the mail server and case server in admin mode. I see the other names in case ET-5 but I have no way to look up those individuals that I can see. I am also pretty sure the murder was done by Christopher but I don't know how to find more evidence besides the sms log, which forensics doesn't respond to when uploaded.

EDIT: nevermind. I got distracted by Handler immediately saying that Ingrid's laptop was empty and didn't search as carefully as I should have.
