It might be because mat_specular is on. Try disabling it and see if that works.

if i killed a enemy combine in the head the head does not appear when it chopped off

Can you fix the problem whenever you kill a zombie their would be 2 headcrabs. One attached to the zombie and one just a ragdoll which both are still gibable

if you found out the problem with this maybe you can tell other users how to fix it because if they dident find out possibly there would be many comments right now talking about this bug.

the bug was fixed over 2 years ago, i just forgot to tell this discussion about the fix
