That's not a bad idea, I could try and do something similar to the war subscriptions but a much simpler version. (The code for the missions is actually extremely complex and I struggle to even understand them)
Something to help keep these idiots from killing each other when the xenon are standing behind them eating them alive would help.
Also perhaps a "cheat" option to modify xenon rep with the player? just suggesting this part because xenon rep is modifyable in custom game starts with the base game, but its locked at what ever the player sets it at at the start of the game, and even the cheat mod doesnt allow changing of xenon rep.
Also to your original post here, really do like your point 3 there with potential missions to aid a faction, if it was tied to a faction rep or something, not sure about getting a faction hit on decline but perhaps a faction hit if you accept the mission and then abort it later? but this could also give us options to support factions that normally dont have war guilds dynamicly. These could be missions like build a station, supply a fleet, or destroy an enemy station?
Also, being able to alter diplomatic relationships by completing missions instead of simply bribing would be cool too.
