Hounds, Spider Warriors, and pretty much every other source still drops monster meat. Normal spiders drop morsels due to them being a weak swarm enemy.

Woodie isn't affected that much after early-game.

I suggest killing brown spiders (from grass trapdoors)

they drop two big monster meat

that's how I usually play woodie if I don't find hound mounds

how about a craft overhaul instead? like maybe an idol station that would let him craft with anything as long as there's monster meat value. monster morsels rn are neglected most of the time so it really just clutters storage after farming.

or possibly a "mini idol" you could craft with the morsels that only transforms for half the time?

fun fact: use a box trap to catch trapdoor spiders

Or just pick them up if you happen to be a certain spider.
