2) The Archival Storage Unit was built with the primary focus on performance.
That ultimate performance focus limits some of the potential use cases.

Things I have personally used it for:
- Temporary storage for Tainted Gerar & low quality weapons waiting to be Recycled.
- Bulk Storage for resources (stone, steel, …)
Wouldn't your pawns be unable to build with the stone and steel though? That was one of the first things I tried before in a quick devtest and the pawns couldn't see the materials when it was in the ASU.
