help editing clone unit sizes
I've been trying to edit the commando, arc, and clone troopers all phase 2 on the republic_clones xml file trying to make the squad sizes bigger but I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. If anyone could give me an example on how to edit squad sizes on FOTR that would be great.

Making the squad bigger. For example right now I’m trying to double the clone trooper squad size (so 18) I put Max_Squad_Size up top as 4 and then 18 and then added 9 more troopers to the phase 2 list of troops under company. But I’m pretty sure I’m doing something wrong bcs nothing changes it still works just stays the same unit size etc.

I only am trying to edit Commando, reg, and ARC. And I’ve been working on only the Phase 2 sections

After some testing, I was able to modify the units without any issue, so I have a suspicion that you might be editing the wrong phase 2 squads, which is why the changes aren't showing up.

The P1 (and P2) platoon is made up of 1 "Main Squad", 1 "Heavy Squad" and 2 "Assault Squads", you might be editing the "Phase 1 Squad" which is used for fire bases. Granted I tested it with phase 1's, so it could be a phase 2 thing.

Although saying that, I then failed to double the squads, not sure what went wrong with that.

ahhh gotcha yeah I'm just mostly having issues with doubling the squad size i put more units in the company and increased the Max and it still didn't seem to do anything

as for editing the troop stats that is v helpful thank you

I was able to get it working in the end, but double check you aren't running any submods.

If it's not that, then make sure every member of the squad has a comma after their entry, except the last member (So it should go A, B, C, D, E etc)

yeah I am running limitless heroes but that's the only other one

On a whim, try disabling it then see if it works

Sorry I passed out but yes it did manage to fix it when I took out the inf unit cap submos my guess is the inf ground unit deployment of that mod was messing with it. Thank you!

Happy to help! It's not too uncommon for submods to override unexpected files so I figured disabling that and making sure it does work would be the best choice.
