I would like to point out that those local grown players in Hong Kong (for example, Kitchee SC) are fluent in Cantonese and those in Guangdong Province (Guangzhou) are at lease basic in Cantonese.

Wu Chinese is mastered by those people living in Eastern part of China, like Shanghai and Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province. Cantonese and Wu Chinese bear noticeable differences.
