A start that skips the pre-Federation days when it was just United Earth, and goes straight into the days of The Original Series.

TBH having to start the Federation is a daunting task and can overwhelm a newcomer as it did me. ("A task better left to greater folks than I.")

Plus DSC (Discovery) SUCKS.

With a startup that takes place in the TOS era as opposed to ENT, you can get past that daunting challenge and move straight into the good stuff, the Trek everyone knows and loves as opposed to having to suffer through the controversial shows like DSC.

Plus you have the option of starting in the ENT era if you want, or starting in the TOS era with the "hard part" behind you.
