Can you post a save game where that happens? It's essentially because they lose the "valid accession target" trigger, but its odd that that would happen after the accession has begun.

I have experienced this exact issue, the moment they agree to join a second popup comes up with the exact message quoted above.

In the game before this i tried declaring war on a neighbour for the game to quit to desktop also, attempted to reload the save several times but experienced the same issue.

I can see for a split second the ascension progress bar in the top right above the sectors tab in the UI then i get that message about "following a change in circumstances within the empire"

If you guys pop into the Discord linked from the main details it should be possible to drop in a save game there?

But I'll have a check.

I am having issues with accessions as they keep saying "following a change in circumstances within the empire. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the mod with the same issue. Most of the time it says they are excited then that issue happens. Any thoughts?
