Is this version of Antistasi more focused on MP ?
Hi all ! I have 1900 hours playing Barbolanis masterpiece ! I have won the Map 3 times (and nearly 4 )...The last update in (october) caused some changes that drastically increase the difficulty but still very much playable.( I have 90% of the island,Thousands of HR,Hundreds of Thousands of Money and I have a massive garage ), but the CSAT attacks were undefendable.
I was hoping this version was an improvement . I understand there will be teething problems, but all the Problems I have now are Server ! (i cant recruit AI because of some Server thing ). (amongst other Server messages).
Discussion posts telling a SP to "host a Lan" to play SP.
I am only a SP . I am only one subscriber out of 7000 (so far). If you are concentrating on MP, i wish you all well. Antistasi is one of the Best Dynamic Campaigns ever made, maybe you can add to It for MPs .

Ok, so serious question since you have completed the map 3-4 times in SP, in which manner do you defend/capture outposts/resources/factories.

I have tried 3-4 playthroughs (I am playing Gov vs Reb) with different mods and once I reached War Level 5+, good money/HR income, the push for capturing outposts and defense at the same time becomes impossible to me.

I tried 2 things:
  • Defend against NATO attacks --> no chance (infinite attack choppers/tanks) + no time to capture more outposts
  • Capture outposts faster than NATO can recapture with small garrisons --> any failed attempt at capturing any outposts leading to a stalemate, resulting in you losing more bases if you screw up again

With the way it is right now, how do you possibly manage to hold/gain any more outposts after you are at Warlevel 5-10?

While we do focus on issues and bugs raised by our official server players (since they report the most bugs though number of people) we do have an ear open to the SP players out there. We are aware of some bugs regarding membership popups in SP among other things and our next milestone has several SP fixes lined up for it.
A lot of the issues that come up in playing SP can be, for the most part, fixed by hosting the scenario as a LAN game through your client's multiplayer menu. This has been recommended by the playerbase for a very long time as SP doesn't like dealing with respawning etc.

Hosting as a server will NOT make you lose your save and even lets you continue it.
Hosting as a LAN server will NOT make it viewable/joinable to anyone in the game.

With all that said, we definitely don't want to alienate our considerable SP playerbase and have several rebalancing plans in place to make it work better in the future.

@Reznov Reb vs Gov SP is probably close to impossible at the moment because you don't get the break from NATO and CSAT attacking each other. At some point you'd need to spam enough static defense to actually beat an air attack, which could easily have 100+ aircraft. Enemy reinforcements shouldn't be infinite, although there are bugs where they can use far more aircraft than they have.

The SP vs MP balance is generally off, because the player count makes a tiny difference compared to the war level. The difficulty adjustments typically use a factor of war level + (players/5).

Thanks for the reply, this was very helpful. I guess I can go ahead and assume that I've been playing the wrong mode, I will try an RHS Altis SP scenario once the bugs are fixed in 2.1.1.
