I had same, we have I think solution, Instal(from software manager) mono for linux https://www.mono-project.com/ , It solved it for me, crashes stoped.

Nice idea, I'm not playing this game anymore, but it sounds like a promising solution.

Installing Mono does not fix this crash for me.

I'd really like a release of TMPE compatible with Linux. Previous versions worked fine several months ago, but it all started crashing at some point.

steam linux runtime fixes problems for some people.
