Is this issue happens when you start new game or always when you are load old savegame? Could you send a link to your save game or create new (if happens on new game)? Info how to share savegame[github.com]
We have hard time to reproduce this issue and the problem is that personally I always have both mods enabled and I've never experienced that. There must be 3rd mod which somehow breaks compatibility between TM:PE and NExT2.
NExT2 is not 100% compatible with Sunset Harbor, but everything worked very well for me
yesterday.
BTW, I am running on linux with every possible DLC loaded.
I have removed all mods, apart from TMPE and NExT2 - still crashes.
When I remove NExT2 I can see lots of broken roads - ie I have made extensive use of Network Extensions on this map.
I'll get time over the weekend to narrow it down further, sort out the logs, and share the save.
In summary, the incompatibility is with NExT2 tiny roads. I am trying to create a minimal reproduction. Sometimes the game just closes with no messages, but occasionally it stays but all the traffic is frozen.
For anyone who needs a workaround - Go to the options in the launcher, choose Network Extensions 2 and uncheck all the options under "Tiny", "Bus" and "Tools". The drawback is that any tiny road in your city will have disappeared.
This is a new creation from a Sunset Harbour map. Only the Network Extensions 2 mod was turned on, and I created my little village using all the tiny roads.
Now if I turn on TMPE, load the city and unpause the animation, it just hangs (no traffic movement).
Tricky. Its all nicely laid out on my screen. I even tried changing to a lower screen resolution, but those tabs remained clickable.
Weird. I am on 1920x1080, probably should have mentioned it. Anyway, disabling TMPE worked - for one hour. Now I get a different error. Guess I will just wait a couple of days until everything is smooth again.
I will check for sure, many thanks!
Another tip: When loading a pre-update map, use TMPE to clear all the traffic as soon as it starts. I discovered I had cars parked in the middle of the road that were blocking the rest of the traffic and a bus hanging over the edge of a cliff (like the Italian Job). A fresh batch of vehicles seemed to be generating sane coordinates.
The only way I can get it working again is to turn off TMPE and the city loads straight away. I let that run for a few minutes, turn on TMPE back on again and reload. It works again.
The weird part is that I am using the same saved city file, why would that give different outcomes?
