You should do it as soon as possible while virus is still in wound, not in blood. Otherwise it won't work.

• Use any disinfectant (except Perfume and Cologne). It has 10% chance of cure virus in a wound.
  
• Use Herbal Infusion. It has 20% chance of cure virus in a wound. Or use disinfectant of power 20+. It may be 7 Bottles of Disinfectant (uses) or 6 Alcohol Wipes (uses) or 6 Alcohol Cotton Balls.
  
• Wild Garlic Poultice has 20% chance of cure a wound.
  Docotr 10 lvl will add +5-10% more. Btw Doctor 3 lvl will add +1-2%. So doctor skill now is helpful.
  
• Toxic Sheets has 20% chance of cure a wound.
  Docotr 10 lvl will add +5-10% more. And doctor bonus will work on any bandage except Ripped Sheets.

So maximum chance is Herbal Infusion (disinfect) + Garlic Poultice + Toxic Sheets = 60%.
And additional +20% if you are Doctor 10 lvl and you are very lucky (just luck, not trait!).
Don't try to cheat by removing and applying again, it won't work.
Even if you remove the virus from wound, you won't know about it. You will know after 1-2 days when the symptoms will appear (or not).

Algorithm: random seed is generated when wound appears and won't change whatever you do. If it's strong, you can't cure it. And if it's weak, you need certain amount of "chance" to cure, i.e. sum of chances must be greater than strength of virus in wound.

Once you did all you can do, the virus is killed or still alive (by chance as mentioned above). It takes 10 ingame minutes to take effect. Then you may do what you want e.g. use Plantain Poultice and common Ripped Sheets etc. No need of using Toxic Sheets or Garlic Poultice or disinfectant again.

It's a good idea to slow down the virus while you (or your friend in MP) are prepareing the real 100% cure. Note that if you are at the beginning of your research, don't waste your time on keeping the virus weak, because you will spend all your alcohol and medicine supplies and still die.
1) Drink alcohol.
2) Use White Powder.
You may use only one of this methods. While you are drunk or feel irritated the virus won't progress. It works if and only if the virus is weak. But if the virus is strong enough (Queasy), these methods won't work. So you should be drunk permanently to stop virus progression forever. It's not a "cure" but if you have unlimited alcohol, virus won't kill you. Same thing with White Powder. Once you take it, you will feel irritated (a bit angry), it lasts ~6 hours. Then you have to take it again and so on until the medicine runs out.

If you know that you are infected (Queasy), it's too late and the virus will progress despite the alcohol and the powder.

Interesting bug/feature (i'm not sure what it is exactly). You can slow down virus using alcohol/powder and after time (while virus is weak) find cataplasm etc and cure virus in wound (by chance ofc). I think this has some logic because the virus cannot enter the blood while it has antiviral substance.

Feature (a bit weird): growing fake infection will be reduced (Queasy), but very strong fake infection (Nauseous and higher) won't be reduced. It may be used to determine if it's fake and not real virus.

You need magazine "Medical Research". You can find it in medic buildings. Then you will be able to craft White Powder.




To craft it you need all special ingredients. Look into the Survival tab in craft window and start your research by writing (crafting) your plan. Then continue as new recipes appear. The global plan is simple:
1) Find all magazines. They are rare enough.
2) Get all ingredients by crafting them (you need ingredients for ingredients).
3) Craft the Cure.
Note that the Cure must be fresh to take effect. Some ingredients must be fresh too, or you won't be able to craft the Cure.
Cure can't be frozen.
You can use Cure at ANY stage of the infection.

Drink 1/4 if the Cure is fresh.
If it's not fresh there is only 30% chance of effect so it's better to drink all.
And the Cure is completely useless if rotten.
