The Doctor was sometimes seen under the console floor putting repairs on the wires (not sure how this would work since the mod does not actually include them as decoration) that hung from the glass floor.
A lot of people are suggesting this in the Feature Requests post, along with the swing the Doctor sits on to make these repairs.
The glass bulb under the console is the heart of the TARDIS in that version of the interior. When the TARDIS has ever been extremely damaged, the heart of the TARDIS is the point of the following explosion (it explodes from under the console, not the console itself in The Pandorica Opens, and had already exploded before the Doctor found out in Journey to the Center of the TARDIS).
Since the heart of the TARDIS is linked to its health, maybe this could be something linked to repairing the TARDIS too?
also what is mat.wav in the sounds folder?
