For instance, I have a 6 member party and fled a battle. 4 of my peeps made it. The two not in my radial menu were stuck in combat and left behind. It was stuck on Lohse's turn but Lohse was not one of the 4 in the radial so the game was essentially stuck on "its not your turn". I could use the abilities provided with the keyboard to cycle to Fane, who was in the battle with Lohse, but since these abilities can't be used in-combat, out of turn I was stuck.
The answer? Quick save and re-open the game with the gamepad controller disconnected so you can use keyboard/mouse. Use left and right bracket to cycle through as the mod intended. Get yourself out of the stuck spot, and then quicksave, and load back in with controller.
Final verdict? Honestly it was a lot of work because this scenario happens more than you'd think. I was replaying the game coming off of PS5 so I originally ust wanted to use familiar controls which is why I was using gamepad. Seems like the game is better optimized for keyboard and mouse. Once I adjusted, I thought it played better anyway.
