Firstly, the distancing between stations along the Grange line in particular is wrong. For example, the distancing between Albert Park and Seaton Park station in real life is 1100 metres however in game you have distanced it at around 300 metres. Secondly, Adelaide Railway Stations layout is unfortunately wrong and could do with a rework. The tracks on approach to the station seem correct, however, the platforms are all the wrong length. Most notably Platform 1 should be the shortest, not the longest and Platform 9 should be the longest. (Platform 9 used to be where the Overland arrived and departed and would certainly not fit on the platform length provided on your version) Lastly, the height and heading of all the railway lines along the route are wrong with the Bowden to Woodville section of the line needing to face a more south westerly direction. It would also add to the realism if you imported the actual terrain of Adelaide as the hills sections would actually have hills and it would accurately show the gradual rise and descent on various other sections of the lines.
All in all you have done a good job at swiftly creating the entire Adelaide Metro network however I think now that you have laid the "framework" of the track, you should go back and fix up some of the distancing and heading issues before getting too into decorating and adding scenary to your line. I have been undertaking a similar project with my mate recreating the network as it was in 1984 (I'm the one decorating, my mate is track laying) and would be happy to help share resources and tips with you to help make two great Adelaide routes showing off the two different eras they operated in. Feel free to message anytime and we'd be happy to help.
Sorry for the critiscm, couldn't think of a better way to bring this to your attention and/or to help fix some of these issues.
All the best!
I see the mistakes now that you have identified. I have been pressed for time as I have recently graduated school and have been working on this while completing year 12.
You are correct on the areas you have identified and I am working as much as I can about it. I'm still learning the controls for the creator mode. I'm currently working on the seaford, lonsdale section atm. with the yard and junctions.
I am working continuously on this network as the government is always changing the landscape, (oaklands crossing, gawler electrification). I have started this project this time last year when I purchased the game. It's also hard because its not the same with UK signalling and rules.
I'm needing help in creation for my own resources to support the current signalling we have as well as the current OHW for seaford and tonsley and possibly gawler.
If you are interested in helping me with this project and getting it completed as well as having the 1984 version of the network incorporated as well. Would look awesome and would inspire people to download these workshop items for fellow Australians and people around the world. If you could pm me for further contact. much appreciated
