Where can I find some sort of a guide for this mod?
I’m usually fine with figuring things out on my own but I seemed to have made a huge mistake somewhere down the line and I can’t figure out what it was. Right now I’m at -33 to -56 public order per turn for all my provinces and that seem mainly due to this native discontent modifier I got going on. So I said okay, great, learning experience, let’s see if this goes away after I defeat the rebels. But that didn’t help. The situation got worse and worse with my income going down the drain (I’m at -20k per turn!) and my public order getting even worse. This is even after I defeated 3 full rebel stacks. Is this just a lost campaign? What the heck happened?

Like you, I had to learn this mod on my own. I've spent more time doing that than actually playing it lol. Then the devs patch it, overhaul a bunch of stuff, then you have to relearn things again. Oh.. And like you I got massive changes in province PO, food, etc... Since they patched it I've been dealing with non-stop uprisings in my northern Gaul provinces (playing as Rome).

If you didn't restart your campaign i'm afraid that may be a lost one. This update changed quite a few things and will not be compatible with the way you would organise your city's in the last update.
You'd have to do a major overhaul buildingwise in your settlements to work it out; But with your economy going down the drain BECAUSE of the low PO i'm not sure you'll be able to fix that in time.

Remember this is a mod in progress and campaign restarts will be necessary from time to time, i know you've probably spent quite some time on your current campaign but i don't think there is much to be done.

Actually, I've only spent one evening playing this campaign. Playing as Carthage, I defeated Scipio at the Battle of Zama and quickly conquered (reconquered?) the north African coast. I figured my PO problems probably has something to do with me converting all my settlements into colonies but I didn't think it'd be THAT big of a problem with only 3 provinces under my control - especially when those provinces have historically been under Carthaginian control for centuries up to this point. Did I expand too fast? Was it really because of the whole colonies thing?

Native discontent got increased quite heavily, maybe converting to colonies only made that worse?

What exactly causes native discontent? Is it just just a cultural thing?

I believe native discontent is caused if your own religion isn't the major one in the region, the higher percentage your religion get's the lower native discontent becomes. Atleast that's what i understand.
