I have legion units, the Marian ones, and they're only recuitable in certain provinces. I've not yet found it them on any information panel so you pretty much have to move your army aropund and see if you're able to recuit them. Use the resource map on the websites too. I'm a couple of turns away from the second legion upgrades and I assume they just upgrade from my existing cards.

As for becoming an Empire, I've now completed all the major objectives (Carthage/Macedon/Gaul/Alexandria) and after that it just becomes a game of 'sack this province'). I'm still classed a Republic. After that, I don't know

Thx for information, it helped a lot, I read in somewhere that u have to had civil war so U can change ur system republic to empire.

Hey guys I figured it out. In order to get Marian legions in provnices you have to have the Auctioned Land building chain in that province. ^-^ Now my only issue is getting slaves.

They said on there post before that the script to turn the republic into empire is not yet in the game but they will in the future
