MARIAN LEGION AREA OF RECRUITMENT ISSUE - PLEASE READ
I have come to the conclusion that recruiting Marian legionaries is possible in regions such as Macedonia, Baetica and Magna Graecia, but Liguria, Venetia and Italia can only recruit the auxiliary cohort soldiers. I am unsure if this is a bug, or if it is meant to be designed this way. Please let me know!

I have the same problem. I think it's a bug. However, it might have gotten worse, because I cannot recruit any legionaries anywhere, only auxiliary infantry.

please read the gameplay guide for recruitment. We have not touched this since the beggining, so shouldnt be broken. Was able to test recruiting marian legions in spain just a few days ago. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?782807-Resources-Ancient-Empires-Gameplay-Guides-and-Resources & https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B-udEDuOxhY3alNzNzdaa1dVUGs

In order to get Marian Legionaries you have to build via the farm chain, either the "auctioned-off" or "divided assignments" line. Keep in mind that each region produces a different "legio(s)". IE: Narbanonesis (I think it's called) grants you Legio II, Legio III, and Legio V.

Nope, not really. In the classical Roman numeral system there was no subtraction method, so IIII and VIIII are the correct Roman numerals. The IV and IX are an invention of the late Antiquity or the Medieval Ages.

That may be but we live post late antiquity and seeing it that way looks ridiculous

Yes, but it would still be historically inaccurate as the legions' vexilla must have shown the, I agree, much more complicated numerals.

Did you really lose the garrisons or were they just transformed? Usually the units should just be replaced (by the much inferior citizens units).
