Would you be able to start a new game and test it in there - you can enable developer mode in the game-options and then you can spawn the animals:
Pause the game, click the 'first ring with the play-button'(Debug menu actions)
then 'Tool: Spawn pawn' on the right (You can always search for the things on the top left),
next same 'Debug menu' but this time 'Tool: Tanme animal'(Third column) click all of the animals(there should be a tame success message for each one),
next same 'Debug menu' again: 'Tool: Try place direct thing...' > 'Shield belt', 'Wild Boar Armor', 'Horse Armor', 'Shield Belt' etc. just spawn them inside a storage-zone or create one over them spawning them
(check the outfit if they are allowed to use them, you shouldn't need to change anything normally)
unpause and see if they equip them.
Yeah, I'll try that in about an hour.
If that doesn't work, there must be another mod there that causes this behavoir.
All in all, it's a minor hiccup. I can create a new Battle Boar Five. After all, the bionic jaws and eyes are extractable.
