Quite digging this mod idea, but i can't get the animals to wear any armor. It Always says "Missing mody parts". Am I missing something? Any idea of where i could start looking?
(It also seems like you can only add people who you have on your friends-list, so add me when you got something I can put in the mod and I add you as a contributor here ^^)
You can find the textures of the base-game in the Ludeon Forum, for example here:
https://github.com/Alias44/b18-Textures
https://github.com/Alias44/b18-Textures/blob/master/Textures/things/pawn/animal/bear/Bear_front.png
they are very helpful to draw over, you can also scale them up and create your version in a higher power of 2 size: like 64x64 / 128x128 / 256x256 pixel even if the animal is just 64x64 for example

Maybe just a bandana or a hat or something?

Good luck and maybe completly remove Rimworld and reinstall if you haven't yet.

I ended up modifying the Medieval Times file directly, adding the apparel tags at the top level of that particular xml due to how to was structured. I broke my game for 2 hours attempting to patch it in lower down.
It mostly works now, with horses and dogs going for the new shield belts when I allow them to.
Sometimes the huskies are refusing still, but I'm not sure why. 3/5 of them get equipped up, then one of the pregnant and one of the hurt dogs ignore what's still laying around.
<apparel>
<careIfWornByCorpse>false</careIfWornByCorpse>
<bodyPartGroups><li>Waist</li></bodyPartGroups>
<layers><li>Belt</li></layers>
</apparel>
+ insert the needed tags into it
<tags>
<li>Animal</li>
<li>WolfArctic</li>
<li>WolfTimber</li>
</tags>
</apparel>
I'm trying to patch in support for Medieval Times Warbourne shield belts...because I just had a horde of them show up and have 10 perfectly good melee shield belts.
I've located it in the Shields patch of this mod.
This isn't throwing any errors at me, but also isn't working:
<!--Patch Warbourne Base shield-->
<Operation Class="PatchOperationSequence">
<success>Always</success>
<operations>
<li Class="ModCheck.FindFile">
<modName>Medieval Times</modName>
<file>MedTimes_Pawn_Accessories.xml</file>
</li>
<li Class="PatchOperationAdd">
<xpath>/Defs/ThingDef[defName="MedTimes_WarbourneShield"]//apparel/tags</xpath>
<value>
<li>AnimalCompatible</li>
<li>AnimalALL</li>
<li>Husky</li>
<li>BlackHorse</li>
</value>
</li>
</operations>
</Operation>
Any thoughts?
@Garr Incorporated - Sounds devious ^^
Are the two mods not compatible? I mean to some degree they seem to be, like I said my other two dogs wear there armor.
And they most definitely need their separate mod. But I believe you know that already.
