I'd like to suggest an attempt to make the eyes glow? Given the body is black, I think just using the fullbright effect the Novakids' sprites have would work, even in the dark.

Another idea I wanted to pitch, which will be probably less well received, is that instead of simply using the materials for each tier, you collect a large sum of the material in question and use it to make a plant or machine, that needs complete darkness to function. Then that machine gives you coalesced shadows at a slow rate that you use to make the armor.

I really like your idea and I would love to try something like that, as it stand you'll have noticed that this mod changes the meta of SB in a way to suit the race, it plays like an actual shadow person and the idea fits right at home with the whole concept. If you are interested in helping make such an idea or contributing in any meaningful way I would be happy for the help, as it stands though I have been poring countless hours into making custom ships and don’t really have spare time to make it.

I'd love to help, but I'm unsure that I'll have enough time to do so. I'll message you if I manage to make something, but for now I'll just post my idea in case I don't have enough time: My idea is that the machine acts as a bed, and you have to rest in it, in darkness, in order to generate coalesced shadows. Rather than there being multiple tiers of coalesced shadows, you'll just need coalesced shadows along with every crafting recipe, and each tier allows you to make a more efficient machine, I.E, Tier 1 gets 1 shadow every 20 seconds, Tier 2 gets 1 every 10 seconds, and so on. And then further, I was thinking at about mid-game, the person can make a tech that transforms them into a shadow creature. This creature is invulnerable to damage, but any damage it takes is instead subtracted from how many coalesced shadows they have (sorta like the hp bar on a mech). I was also thinking the sprite would change, and form would get stronger the more shadows that they have. In light, however, the shadows would be drained very quickly. Anyways, that's all I have, we'll see if I can make it!

I've been working on the lore and thus far the idea for condention is nice, however I hate games that force you to wait; crafting times, grinds and leveling. With that said I have come up with a solution that combines your idea of collection with mine of story, lore and unlimited freedom. So far I've mad a language, planned 2 bosses, and am working on weapons and ship designs.

The eye shapes and colors should be separated into two diffirent categories in the character creation menu, it would be easier and more ergonomic. Some horns look really strange and wrong, they look like bunny ears. More novakid haircuts could be added.

well there are bunny ears in the head list so maybe what you think are bunny ear looking horns are just bunny ears... second, no. I make all my own code and art; as for the head they are all ported from vanilla novakid heads. Thirdly adding a seprate eye type to a different list 1: doesnt work 2: doesnt work with glowing eyes 2.5: doesnt work with the vanilla menu and 3: doesnt work. NEXT!

Weapons from the game known as hollow knight? I know this isn't the most descriptive or helpfull suggestion but the weaponry and items in Hollow Knight could do a heccin' wonder
