So I find it quite intriguing that you can research other FTL methods than the one you start with. But in the tech tree, you can only research prototype versions which seem to suck.

The discription says that these protoypes will allow you to research the real ones, but in my game so far I built a ship with a prototype slipstream generator and still I can not figure out how to research the real version.

Since the prototype version puts me 3 systems away from where I actually want to go when I generate a slipstream to cross half the galaxy, it is not really useful at all.

Still loving the mod so far, mechanoid lifestyle seems kind of op, all you have to do is find an FTL Crystal planet, level it up to level 5 and the galaxy is yours, while the AI can't expand nearly as quickly.
Haven't tried the other life styles yet, though. :D
