They really delivered with this update imo. I'd go as far to say that he looks like an official RedHook project. Fantastic mod.

With the recent update all Cataphract's flaw were attended and the class have been polished, this topic is of no use anymore.

with Winnowing Volley the Cataphract should be leaping back since there does not seem to be much reason for the Cataphract to move back in regards to the animation

He shoots first, then he does a normal move.
He is not moving and shooting at the same time.

I love the polish you gave to the class. But I think you should get some tips from other more experienced modders on the balance of the class.
I see too many moves that hit the entire enemy party for too much damage. I have a few ideas on how they could be reworked, but someone who has made more balanced characters and overhaul mods can help you better.

AoE moves are sub-optimal to use in almost every case that doesn't land a fight-winning debuff (Bellow, Barbaric YAWP). Except in a few rare exceptions, cases in which you would want to use an AoE attack you're better off singling out a priority target like a stress witch or heavy backline damage dealer. Volley is meant to push the Cataphract back while still allowing him to deal reasonable damage, and gives him something to do against rank 1 enemies instead of passing.

Can't get what you've said. The class was quite balanced from the beginning, and his AoE attacks most of time deal only DMG, no debuff or buff(with exception of whelling disengage that has horrid DMG but is intended to move him back), only a few of his moves actually have good DMG.
The way you gave your opinion sounded as they are not capable of balancing their own class. As someone who have accompanied these guys since S-purple concept art, I can surely say that the Cataphract is indistinguishable from the rest of vanilla classes. That is why it is so well seem by the workshop, and heavens permit it, shall be for a long time.

Dunno what do you think, but how about keeping old versions of his skins in the mod as an alternative ones?

i feel the cataphract heal feels tacted on now with it being stated as a healer

I think you should make his basic animation (when he does nothing) slower, I mean this is not natural now, he's like breathing very quickly
