Thank you for fixing this bug! for those that come after me and don't know how to use it. Simply download the .pack file and drop it into your ttww data folder. Make sure to switch it to on in the mod manager. and it should work fine. at least it did for me!

One note: it has to be in a higher loading order compared to the 'base mod' (mod manager ordering) to work.

Could it be that this only happens to people that do not own the woodelf DLC?
Maybe some of those references break beacause they try to access something that is contained in the DLC and only there...

Kruniac, I wanted to thank you dearly for this. You just saved my: Tomb Kings 60+ turn campaign, and my two chaos campaigns (150+ turns & second one I had created after encountering the bug with 120+ turns).

To add to what solambar said: because kruniac deleted any reference to the WE in the whole mod, it means you should disable the actual mod and simply enable the fix, which does still include unit formations.

It's a .rar and not a .pack, what do I do with it ?

Just unpack it, *.rar is just a compressed format, like an alternative to *zip. When unpacked, it's a *pack file, then simply overwrite yours in the mod folder. I forgot where it was, just search for it.
Not fully sure windows supports rar by default, if not, download "winrar", it's free for trail.

Kruniac, thank you. Unit Formations is a must-have in my load order, and has been since the first game. I wasn't really sure what to do when I discovered that it was causing the Wild Riders CTD. Took me a long time to narrow it down, too.

Update: I've succeeded and it works all of my wood elves unit now has formations apart from the wild riders. As long as you dont put the wild riders formation it doesnt crash. :)

I would like those files if you have them. Would love to have Wood Elf formations too.

seems the issue lies with the loose formation for the wild riders with spears and shield.
i removed that specifiq formation and that seems to fix it. diamond formation still works.

Edit: found the issue, its the short_description_text

with this file you should be able to use both formations on the wild riders
