Consuming soul benefits, Relationship impacts, Mass Production of vampires and Generations?
Hey Jecrell. First of all, incredible mod. I've been up all night like a vampire playing with it.

Couple of questions. First of all, what are the benefits of a vampire using "diablerie" (if that's correct) on firstly a vampire of equal generation, and second higher? I noticed the +20 mood boost, and the name of the consumed in the health tab, but I initially assumed that the death of a colonist would increase generation, or perhaps max level of vitae (haven't checked vitae yet).

Second of all, relationship impacts. Good grief, without the Therapy mod my colony would be in shambles with mental breaks. I mass produce vampires using the same Sire; for example, I would turn a daughter into a vampire, and the mother would have a "my daughter died" debuff and they would be unrelated. Now, that's something that can be handled.

The problem was when I decided to mass consume souls within the colony. I have one 11th generation vampire, about 20+ 12th generation vampires. I had the "most useful" vampires (e.g. non-negative traits, high skill level and least incapabilities) to consume the weakest; I ended up consuming around 8 vampires. The Sire suffered massively. 8 of his childe died, his mood won't budge even with Catharsis and decreasing the difficulty level. Therapy is working slowly, but the damage is permanent.

And finally, generations. The higher a generation, the higher the max vitae of the vampire. However, is there a cut-off point at the 5th generation? I've never seen a vampire higher, and its not selectable using Prepare Carefully. Moreover, the traits section displays numerous "disabled" vampiric states, like "antideluvian" (again, hoping that's spelt correctly) and I am just curious as to what that means. In addition, when using God mode to give Vampirism with any bloodline higher than the 5th, the vampire will not have Diciplines. This can be cheated around, however. The First Vampire and Children of Caine don't display anything, as I presume was intentional. Imagine how powerful they would be though. Damn, I want one.

Well, I'm finished. Sorry for the long-winded read, but if you read I'm grateful. I've never posted properly before, but I see the complexity of the mod contrasted with the lack of discussion and feel the need to post. Thanks for the continued effort.

I think the mood debuffs are fair (besides the colonists getting a mood debuff from their friends/family "dying" while being turned into a vampire). The other massive mood debuffs are there to discourage mass soul consuption... I think. I know how fun it is to raise an army of vampires like that, but I think there has to be some kind of balance.

I read somewhere in Jecrell's documentation (maybe on the patreon page?) that the 5th generation limit is intentional.
If you a vampire would get past 5th generation he would assently become a god like a Brujah could warp through time a Tzimince never dies but it would be harder to work in the other generations because the second generation is gone since the third lore wise ate them all

A) Diablerie has a vampire feed on the blood of another vampire to the point of depletion as well as soul consumption. When devouring the soul of another vampire, your vampire can "descend" its generation down to match the consumed soul, if it's lower than your vampire. This way, it will increase your vitae total.

A) I know, right?

Q) Is there are cut-off point at the 5th generation?
A) 3rd generation and above are off-limits. They are heavily entrenched in lore and mythology that I cannot accurately represent without spending quite a long time developing them and coding their powers etc, time better spent on better expanding with other clans, etc.

Q) Disabled traits?
A) Accidents I can't remove, so ignore them.

Ah, thanks for the feedback.

My mistake, I had 12th generation vampires consume eachother. Wasn't worth it, it seems.

As for relationships... well, cutting off his legs should do for a quadrum I suppose ;D

I like the direction of this mod. The amount of work you have done in a single week is astonishing.

While we're talking about this stuff, what do blood links do? I tried using one between two that were engaged but it didn't do anything that I could see. Thanks for all of your hard work modding this amazing game!
