Have you ever actually played the Vampires in Warhammer 1? They never had archers and that was part of their gameplay - they are a very magic / melee / monster - centric race, so archers are not their thing, they rather sling spells around.

If you got archer problems, send dire wolves, flying stuff or meatshield zombie walls at them.
And of course zombies are not going to kill anything, they just eat up arrows or their stamina, look at their stats before you complain.

I don't do race balancing anyways, so if you want to make your vampire experience less original then don't bother me and just get a mod that adds such units.

The vamps have many flying units to make up for their lack of archers. It's their design.

Omg I never realised you were a developer. So are they cool with you basically giving us all the stuff they didn't bother to include with the full game?!

I love VC gameplay .. have 2-3 zombies - put at front to absorb arrows, buff with Inovacation and then just let them slog the enemy down until they are fatigued, 4 skeletons - shielded and can take arrows, also last a while with necromancer nearby, 2-3 graveguards - send these in after their forces have faced your zombies/skeletons for 5 minutes and they will DECIMATE the enemy, 1-2 crypthorrors - flanking or dead on charges to break lines, 1 cryptgouls for holding an annnoying enemy in place and then have bats and wolves to flank archers. However, if you prefer your battles to be more battle and less tedius kiting archer chasing - there is a mod that changes the recruitment so the enemy only has 2 archer units and elves only have 4. It means you can either easily wipe them out quickly or just not worry about them till the end. Archers firing upon your men when they are engaged in melee actually lowers the morale of both units fighting (I think)

Also if you are really struggling to overcome a large force or garrison - Recruit a necromancer and literally raise dead an army of 19 zombie units. Let him lead a seige and literally just overrun his walls with zombies. They will all die and do minimal casualties but they'll keep them busy and using ammo for up to 10 minutes.. just keep an eye on their stamina status and by the time all the zombies are dead their forces will be exhausted whilst yours remain fresh - meaning the actual melee with be easily won. This only costs like 2000 gold and can be done with smaller forces if you have a larger force ready to take them on. Note - this tactic ONLY works when the Necromancer/Horde leads a battle with back up. Sending zombie hordes alone against armies never works, although is fun. Wish they still had the village siege attacks so I could see a horde surround and overrun the enemy!

when someone writes a huge ass complaint about something they know nothing about... even the first game was the exact same way with vampire factions. try playing them with a bit of stratergy :steamfacepalm:

Rather not, there is a reason why it has a lot of subscribers yet very low ratings (600+ ratings yet only 4 stars), as it really ♥♥♥♥♥ up the game balance and takes out the asymmetrical warfare that makes Warhammer so unique and interesting, aside from really breaking lore by adding these units.

From a lore pov, Skellies and Zombies can't use ranged weapons. This is why they never had any on Table Top. The game is simply trying to stay true to the source material.

The only undead unit with ranged individuals was Tomb King Skeleton Archers; and their arrows were controlled by a god, they just fire up and let them seek out the targets themselves.

There's a mod that stops the fatigue of undead and i use it with Kemmler playthroughs because it seems more "realistic"... you cannt "mow them down" but you can engage in long slugs and 600 zombies surrounding a single unit will now actually do the job of slaying it, rather than the ai thinking "ez" and just wiping out 500 zombies without any casualties. Regardless of stats or lore, 600 zombies surrounding a unit of 120 men - they should be annihilated.
