How does "From Ashes" work?
So I've been starting to play on the "From Ashes" GC map, but I don't really get how it works. For example, how do I build mining facilities and how do I upgrade my tech level?

Well, you have to take over a planet that can build a Research Station, and for mines, it's not that hard to find planets with them available.

What planet allows you to build a research station? I'm tired of being stuck with no way to upgrade while the AI has capital ships to fight me.

Quite a few core worlds can get Research Stations

I had this problem too... I found 1 planet that can build a refinery, but the only way to get a research station is to do a commando raid with only jedi heroes because the space is guarded by capital ships and you can't even get bombers. Maybe allow the player to get some upgrades and money within the area you blocked off with capital ships? :s
