Weapon Classes
Do certain weapon categories count for various classes' buffs to their damage? Examples:
Prods from Ethilian Races mod (function as spears)
Adaptive Grenade Launcher from the eponymous mod (functions as a ranged explosive weapon)
Energy Weapons from Stolte Inc. Energy Weapons (functions as a rifle)
Various modded grenades, for the Soldier's one-handed buff

That depends on how they are tagged and whether they are one handed, two handed, etc. So I cant tell you for certain off hand.

@DanMan What I mean is that they work functionally identically to other weapons, but are tagged with something different under the name. Like, the Prods act like spears, but instead of saying "Spear" under the name it says "Prod."

Dan's answer still applies. In the weapon file, which is JSON, most weapons are tagged. For example, Spears are tagged 'melee' and 'spear', whereas Shotguns are tagged 'ranged' and 'shotgun'.

If Prods are tagged with the 'melee', or the energy weapons are tagged as 'ranged' and 'rifle', then yes, they should work.

While we're on this topic Iove how Maces from I don't know what mod but probably FU count for Rogue's dual-wielding buff and so do longswords.

Okay, I checked the tags on the Adaptive Grenade Launcher, which is what I was really worried about, and it said that its tags are "weapon", "ranged", and "grenadelancher" (sic), so, checking the files on this mod, the supported tags are "shotgun", "sniperrifle" and "assaultrifle."
So I guess that won't work.
