Are you trying to select the fingers on the ragdoll? You can do that through the Bone Tree UI (found by looking at the C Menu) and finding the bones that correspond to a finger, or by pressing ALT (or the key that makes your character slow down to a walk) and selecting the blue circles that show up on the fingers
