side note:
# works fine on menu save but i like my binds better
# problem still persists when this is the only addon enabled

are those saves that source engine uses, and not gmod's? those generally seem to break ragmover, as i've noticed. seems like when using those saves player spawn hook doesn't get called, but it works fine for gmod saves.

is there a better alternative for that?

im transitioning from SFM and i can't stand the fact that there's no simple undo button.

does it work if you use gmod's save window from q menu? it should have a tab with saves there.

for undo, there's a physgun undo addon that also works with ragdoll mover

although where did you happen to find out about source saves for gmod through console?

perhaps if you still want to use a bind for that, perhaps gm_save would be the one to quicksave stuff as gmod does it, as source's own stuff seems to not like some lua things

idk man, i just called it console saves as in going to the console and saving and typing save <whatever> (a habit i like to do in games like hl2,bmesa), and you called it source engine saves, So i connected the dots.

guess i'll just try your suggestion next time i use gmod.

ah, i just thought that perhaps there was some guide around here telling how to save stuff like in other source games, i was wondering if it had any advantages to gmod's ones. well, makes sense, just so far you'd be the second person using those saves and making ragdoll mover break.

well, anyway, i mostly use gmod's saves and don't have much issues, apart from stuff like advanced color tool not preserving its colors, but it's mostly tools fault as it doesn't seem to quite work with duplicator tool, and gmod's saves are basically a big dupe tied to a map.
+ doors stool outright breaks effect props on gmod saves for some reason.

pardon for rather unnecesary talk, just thought it would be interesting to share

np chief, keep up the good work!

one last thing i forgot to mention, if you were curious on how i got that habit.

i was simply snooping at config.cfg when i found out that the default quicksave button (F5) is literally bound to a command called "save quick" vice versa for quickload.

i love saving that way cause i like naming my save files and also ofc.. binds.

well that's it from me for now im unsubbing to this discussion.
