Generator VHS Tape

@Bruh Man Ah nice, thank you!

I am not going to say this was the cause, but after removing Glyde's trait magazines from my mod list, I immediately found a VHS tape the next time I reloaded the save and a VHS store. If anyone has any similar issues, try this first.

@Bruh Man I looked for it in the retail VHS pool by using debug and lootzed to reload the shelf until it spawned. It just seems very rare at least from what I can see because there's so many items.

Mods and other things that add more VHS tapes will of course make this one harder to find, you'll just have to get lucky.

Hope you find it in a save, but I cannot change or influence it's rarity in any other way than the sandbox options can for VHS and magazines.

Thanks for such a really quick reply. I have both activated. Thanks for clarifying/confirming that they do spawn in their respective location.

My situation is that I have a lot of perishable food (high metabolism), but I had forgotten to skill electric/get a magazine. Therefore, I've been reloading my save to try and find the magazine before my food goes bad. I downloaded this mod to see if I can increase my chances.

On different reloads, I've been to:
2 post offices
3 VHS stores (revisited multiple times from different reloads)
4 Bookstores (^)

I still haven't found either a VHS or magazine. I feel like I am going crazy. Either there is a conflict/ bug preventing either the magazine or VHS from spawning, such as glydes trait magazines, or I am just getting really unlucky and being punished for reloading my save. I am going to try 1-2 more things, but I have fully prepared myself with the realization that I am just getting really unlucky and I'll just get it from the debug menu.

@Bruh Man I just got into a game with my mods enabled, and at least from what I've seen right now, the retail variant does spawn. It is just rare since there's so many VHS tapes, it's a big list so it's just pure luck if it does spawn, I run pretty hard hitting settings on my loot so that may have also played a factor. But I got it to spawn. It's just about luck.

Home variant most likely also spawns, haven't tested yet and won't spam with another comment.

It's just hard to find because of all the retail VHS tapes there are. I would suggest using both so you can get lucky and find one in a home or in a retail store.

@Bruh Man What VHS store did you visit? There are 2 different mods in this one, a home and a retail variant, they should spawn in different places.

The VHS tapes go into the lootpool as other VHS tapes, **I** can't set the spawn rate of it, if you can then I at least don't know how to, it's simply added to the already existing pool of VHS tapes,

You can go into the files and check. The retail variant is added to the "Retail-VHS" category and the home variant is added to the "Home-VHS" category.

You should be able to spawn a blank VHS tape in with debug mode and choose the VHS tape from there, and there you'll find them in their respective categories.

The mod **should** work with already exisiting saves, if you go to new chunks to spawn them.

But things could have changed since I made the mod and now in b42. I have not checked in a while.

I just added this to my save. I am at a VHS store in a freshly loaded chunk, and I am not seeing it there. In fact, I reloaded the save a few times just to make sure. I am pretty sure I saw this was compatible with new saves, but I just also want to confirm that these are set to spawn at VHS stores?

@Monkey Butt Gamer Idk, maybe? It's a bit paradoxical. Retail gives XP where if you're level 0 you'll get to lvl 1, and of course learning how to connect a generator.

I'm also playing as a illiterate, on apocalypse with all negative traits, i'm using the mod called learn how to read, and i need power to watch TV to be able to read, so your saying there is still away i can get power.

@Monkey Butt Gamer If you're using the retail version of the mod, if you do get power back on. You can still get electrical xp and some boredom reduction. So if you find it, it may still have some use.
