Content
Expanded Dawn expands the game with:
- 104 building options
- 16 characters
- 10 expeditions / 32 storybits
- 13 game rules
- 35 pieces of equipment
- 374 recipes
- 154 research options


Settings
The aim of the mod is to create additional upgrade options and expand the endgame with new content:

- Connected and repeatable expeditions with an additional backstory
- Some devices with new features
- An optional trading system

New research and some breakthroughs build on each other, which is why all breakthroughs are unlocked in the tech tree, but must first be researched. The corresponding requirements for research are still there. Content excluded from some scenarios is now unlocked for all maps.

ah ok, thanks for the info, i'll try and carry on with this game without the mod, and then try a fresh one from the start with this mod for the fuller experience :lunar2019piginablanket:

I've tried it myself; the number of available breakthroughs doesn't increase after starting the game.

So if you want to unlock everything, you won't be able to do it without restarting.

Hi, the only problem might be that the number of breakthroughs in the base game is limited to 5, as the number is actually only calculated at the start of the game.
You can activate the mod and load your save game. Then simply check the research to see if there are a maximum of 5 breakthroughs or more.
If it stays at 5, I recommend restarting.

can i check if it can be added to an existing save, to get the extra research and items?

Vanilla+ shouldn't conflict too.

I started a game with the same modlist in 3 scenarios and always see ALL breakthroughs.

Must be something other on your end.

I took a look and found out the following:

Electric Furnace bigger batches
Just adds new breakthroughs, shouldn't conflict.

Fabricator Unlocker
Is not required, as unlocking the fabricators is also included in Expanded Dawn.

Improved Solar & Graphene Solar Roofs
Overwrites the default research for improved & graphene solar panels, just like my mod.
This is the reason why you can't unlock it.


I use SAD_CommonLib and Beyond Stranded without any problems, and none of the other mods listed override the maximum number of breakthroughs.

Perhaps you're using a different mod?

If not, just start a new game with the same mods and see if 5 or all of the breakthroughs are visible in the research tree right from the start.

Hey, Tigu. I think I did have only 5. On year 10 with this run, so memory of starting discoveries is vague, but there were not many. Mods I am running that might affect discovery are:
Expanded Dawn, obviously, LOL
Beyond Stranded
Fabricator Unlocker
SAD_CommonLib
Vanilla+
Improved Solar & Graphene Solar Roofs (I think this might be our culprit, as it also unlocks Improved Graphene Cells)
Electric Furnace Bigger Batches

Hi, to unlock the Improved Graphene Cells, you must first research the Graphene Cells breakthrough. My mod unlocks up to 50 breakthroughs in the corresponding research category, which should ALWAYS unlock the research.

Do you only have 5 breakthroughs to choose from at the start of the game? Then there must be a mod conflict.

If so, what other mods are you using?
