描述
All elevators are used by US and soviet carriers. Planes are parked on deck. There are simoultainous take-offs and landings of planes/helos. Launching and recovering intensity corresponds to reality. Next to standard, there are versions of vessels (Tarawa and Kiev) with useable on-deck aircrafts.

Mod features
Some of the mod solutions have been implemented into the game (patch 0.1.1.2). These are:
  • Simultainous movment of elevators and hangar doors
  • Initial waypoint for taking-off helos
  • new holding and landing patterns for planes
  • Introduced holding and landing patterns for helos
  • Increased landing intensity of planes and helos

Below are features that are still only in the mod:
CV and CVN
  • Simultainous launching and recovering.
  • Launching intensity is closer to reality. On US carriers it's 2 planes every circa 40 sec in daytime and 1 plane every circa 60 sec in nighttime. In the mod it is averaged to 2 planes every circa 60 sec all the time.
  • All elevators are usable but not at the same time. To see whole launching cycle minimum 8 planes must be ordered to go at once.
  • Better positions on elevators. Big planes (RA-5C, A-3B) take angeled position on elevators. Position of S-3A is more in the middle.
  • No collisions on catapults. Simultainously 2 cats are used in pairs: 1-2; 1-3; 1-4. These limitations are introduced not only to achieve desired launching efficency. Note, on US carriers runway catapults are slightly angeled towards and very close to each other. It limitates its simultainous usage due to risk of ram planes each other and risk of air flow disturbance caused by jet engine of previus plane. Waist cats endings are very or too close to port bow cat and deflector, so some planes can't avoid wingtips collision or deflector ramming when it is in up position.
  • Limitations on bow catapults (1-2). Not every pair of planes is possible. Only Forrestal class hasn't got restrictions. The most restrictive are Nimitz and Orel classes.
  • Limitations on port elevator on Forrestal class. During take-offs, when waist cats are in use, it lits only 1 plane up. Genrerally, runway elevator was projected to serve landing planes too but it turned out, it extends intervals between touchdowns. That's why very often port elevator wasn't used. In the mod it is used.
  • Different holding and landing patterns. Depending on vessel - nighttime/instrument or daytime/visual or mixed.
  • Time gap between touchdowns of planes is 50 - 80 seconds depending on vessel.
  • Heli launching spots are placed in more typical, real positions.
  • 2 helis are recovered at one time.
  • Harriers/Yak-38s usage. Planes take-off in short or vertical manner depending on vessel. In the late 70's AV-8A Harriers were embarked aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CV-42), to prove the concept of integrating Harrier into catapult and barrier configured carrier's air wing. It was succesful but the concept wasn't developed further because both USN ans USMC concidered it as contradictory to their interests - Navy feared of losing funds for catapults and Marine feared of losing funds for dedicated helicopter carriers.
  • 4 DC teams instead of 3.

Tarawa
  • Simultainous launching and recovering. Only in helis operations with on-deck AH-1s and CH-46s.
  • Harriers form a line. There are 4 launching spots placed one by one in a line.
  • No collisions during taxi. If taxiway is blocked by taking-off plane/helo, next aircraft waits until it is free.
  • Better positions on elevators. AH-1 and HH-3 take angeled position on side elevator.
  • On-deck aircrafts are usable. On-deck aircrafts can take-off in versions matched as "on-deck aircrafts".
  • Planes and helis operations are separated.
  • 4 DC teams instead of 3.

kiev
  • No simultainous launching and recovering.
  • Limited Yak-38s flight deck operations capability. Generally only spots 3, 4, 5 were used to vertical take-offs due to problems with airflow and wings composed of 3 planes. Spots 1, 2, 6 were used very very rare. It has a reflection in the mod.
  • No collisions during taxi. If taxiway is blocked by taking-off plane/helo, next aircraft waits until it is free.
  • Helis use all 7 launch spots.
  • 2 helis are recovered at one time.
  • On-deck aircrafts are usable. On-deck aircrafts can take-off in versions matched as "on-deck aircrafts".
  • Planes and helis operations are separated.
  • 4 DC teams instead of 3.

Moskva
  • No simultainous launching and recovering.
  • Limitations on elevators functioning. Helicopters aren't lifted up when all launching spots are occupied and in consequence don't wait on deck very close to taking-off helos. Rear elevator is blocked when spots 3, 4 are busy. Elevators don't work simultainously to make launching operations more orderly.
  • 2 helis are recovered at one time.
  • 4 DC teams instead of 3.

@Anklopfgerät TOG II Intended. Rear (E4) elevator is used only by A-3 and RA-5C. I'm thinking of expanding list of planes using only E4 or both E4 and E2. I'm looking for some balancing during simultainous operations like forcing more rarely used planes to go to E4 or maybe vice versa. Maybe you have some suggestions. Anyway you can change it very easily by yourself. Just go to launchpoint1 in the ini file and set proper elevators for each type of planes. For example E346 is E2 for F-14s and E336 is E4 for F-14. Generally E2 is used much more commonly than E4 and it is more natural choice. I know it limits a bit launching intensity.

I noticed, that during Air Ops, landing planes now use the second forward elevator instead of a rear elevator limiting the launching of planes pretty hard, is this intended or a bug related to an update of the game?

@Chopper1987 It should affect only Enterprise. JFK, AEGIS Enterprise and other carriers are different vessels (other ini file names). I don't know history of TOE but if it had worked with ADOU previously it had to introduce some changes in file names, what corrupted compatibility. To make them covered again you can combine codes from ADOU ini files and TOE ini files into 1 piece and put it before TOE.

The only thing that sucks is that the base mod worked previous to the new patches to Sea Power with TOE (Twilight of Empires) Mod which is Goldleader's mod. But now it does not, do you have any ideas as to why?

@Kirameki What carrier and what planes? I've just tested all carriers and haven't noticed such a glitch (pure game with only the mod loaded). Animations names are unchanged and differ from vanilla one - they are independent and resistant against name changes in vanilla.

For anyone having a glitch where the elevator animations don't play, and the aircraft just clip through from the hangar:

Replace every "MoveUpAnimation=MoveUp_Close_" to "MoveUpAnimation=MoveUpElevator" and "MoveDownAnimation=MoveDown_Open_" to "MoveDownAnimation=MoveDownElevator".

Probably one of the new updates changed the animation names and messed it up.

@SSG Beard [506 IR] I'm glad to hear you solved the issue. I test my mod without any other mods. I try the mod to be as most neutral towards game and other mods as it's possible but I can't guarantee it will work with kitbashes or other things/mods.

Kitbashes made by Goldleader were responsible for the compatibility issue. They work fine without ADOU but cause a CTD when installed together. I played with load order and it didn't change much.

I have uninstalled Goldleaders mods and now can use effective carriers again.

Cleanskin reinstall of everything didn't work. Nothing in logs. No obvious reason for CTD. I have no idea.
