Tank Tracks Builder

Descripción
A handheld builder for Tank Tracks Framework using a fake block to act as the track placing "tool".

Not the mod you're looking for
You need a mod that adds track designs and this is not it.
The Tank Tracks Framework page's description lists some known track mods, those are not all of them of course, search the workshop to find hidden gems!
If those mods are configured right they will automatically bring the API mod and this mod along.

Function
This being only the builder tool it does not contain any info on how the tracks behave after that, for that info look at the Tank Tracks Framework.

Placing tracks does not require any materials.
Can only place tracks on friendly (non-neutral) vehicles.

It also functions as a TankTracksAPI usage example.

This or a mod similar to this is required for the player to have the ability to place or remove tracks to vehicles.
Vehicles that already have tracks on them are not affected by this mod, those are handled by the tracks framework.

If you want players in your server to not be able to add/remove tracks, then either prohibit the track builder block or remove this mod entirely by turning off auto-dependencies (DS only) and adding all the dependencies manually except this one.

Problems?
If equipping the tool says "TankTracksAPI not working or not present" or "No track designs defined" then:
First ensure you have a mod that adds tracks. See a list of track mods in Tank Tracks Framework.
If that's not the case, then post a comment or discussion with the exact mods you do have and the exact behavior you're getting.

Any way to make these tank tracks work on a static grid?
I wanted to use a couple of them as conveyor belts in a factory build. Just for the visuals

Good Evening, I am a senior admin for an SE server that uses this mod. I have personally, as a few other users, noticed that every once in a while, and usually after a restart, one or both of the tracks completely disappear. Not sure why or how, but I figured I would send that up the chain and see if a resolution could be found.

I tried using this without the Improvised Experimentation mod and its fully functional. I'll go see if i can find a way to rebind that mod.

Improvised Engineering. Improvised Experimentation to be specific. That mod allows you to grab and drag stuff with your hands. For some reason the primary grab, which is bound to reload, doesn't interfere with placing tracks. However the secondary grab, which is bound to Use, stops me from removing tracks. I'll check that one for changable binds.

This uses the controls for use, reload and primary tool action, so whatever those are bound to, but they're only read when the tool is equipped so if another mod's keybinds are more global than that, then that mod should be the one offering changeable binds :P

What is the other mod and what keys does it conflict with exactly?

Hi, the mod works great, but i'm having a keybind conflict with another mod. Does anyone know how to change the keybinds for this mod?

Hi! Could you include localization support in your mod with English strings in a separate file? I’d like to translate it to Brazilian Portuguese. Thanks!

@Filzar Getnep i had the same problem. removing an extended piston that was attaching it to the floor fixed the problem. maybe something abt sub grids???
