Performant Render

Performant Render
Optimizes the render of the entities by disabling their render whenever they aren't seen but in the FOV.



Isn't this in the game by default?
No. Entities still render when you stand behind a prop that is in front of them. You can check this yourself.

How much FPS can I save?
Well, it depends on the number of entities on a server.
Mostly in a range from 0 to 50.

  • Should be compatible with all addons.
  • Optimized CPU calculations.

Possible Issues
  • Infrequent render glitches.

Console Variables
  • r_performant_enable "1 or 0" - Enables/disables the addon.
  • r_performant_cutbeyondfog "1 or 0" - Should we disable ther render of the entities that are beyond fog?
  • r_performant_debug "0 or 1" - Enables/disables debug.

severly broken currently, don't install. props disappear once you step away like 20 feet

Props, entities and NPCs disappear if not extremely close. Broken mod.

I found a bug where when npcs are killed with this mod I can still see a frozen duplication then it disappears it ruins the vibe of cool battles.

third person animations (looking around unarmed) become stiff when I turn and look towards certain places with this mod on. I tested on the map d2_coast_05 when looking off to the ocean.

You're able to intuitively infer it from the contents. The first number is the default. The number after "or" is the possible opposite option.

The turrets dissapear if they fall

can confirm it now makes stuff disappear if not close
