Hello all Warhammer 40,000 fans.

This is our dedicated Cadian Shock Troops module for the "GrimWorld 40,000" mod series, part of our "Regiments of Renown" subseries. This subseries focus on each regiment on an individual level, giving the players more resources for their role-playing. This mod, like other future releases, is part of our very special collaboration & joining of forces with Coventech, and it has been waiting for release for a while.

This mod is made by fans for fans. Follow our mod list for more "Warhammer 40,000" content.

Keep in mind that any content added can be subjected to changes in the future as we look in to ways to improve our mod's contents. Basically, we want to make clear that this mod series is still being built up and future additions will be released in the future, while already released content will receive updates.

Our goal? Total conversion. For the Emperor!







Cadian apparel requires the corresponding research to be unlocked as well as the researches listed bellow. If crafting is unavailable, verify in the in-game menus whether this or a related research is missing.






Weapons my require the corresponding "gun tech" researches to be unlocked as well as the researches listed bellow. Equip a powered backpack, such as weapons powerpack or any of the Kasrkin backpacks to use the Hellgun or use the Power Weapons to its full potential.











GrimWorld has moved it's vehicles from the original "GrimWorld 40,000 - Imperial Vehicles of Grimworld" to each faction's main mod. These are optional, only appearing if you are using vehicles in your playthrough.

Vehicles require the Vehicle Framework to appear in-game. Vehicles are now built differently, giving you an empty chassi, where you'll be able and need to add turrets and more.






This is a new section we'll be adding in future releases. Role-playing informs some peculiarities you will observe when reading 40k's lore about this particular faction. You can follow or ignore anything mentioned here, but we aim to give you here to paint a picture of how this faction looks or acts like:

The Cadians are your standard regiment in the Imperium. Often deployed widely across the galaxy to a multitude of planets and scenarios, they originate from the Fortress world of Cadia, and thus are a bit more of a defense specialist force. They operate with disciplined precision, holding the line under fire and executing orders with unwavering loyalty to the Emperor.

  • Cadian guards are often equipped with flak armor and operate lasguns in the battlefied. Units may have designated specialist weaponry among squads and are lead by a CO. Guards may also employ heavy weapons teams to provide additional fire capabilities on the battlefield.

  • Cadian crewmembers, with their lighter armor and more specialized equipment, those are found within vehicles or in artillery crews. Sergeants that lead artillery may wear caps instead of officer hats, while vehicle crew officers maintain helmets. While not expected to engage with small arms, they would still be using smaller and less powerful weapons, such as autoguns or lasguns.

  • Cadian officer, usually leading multiple squads and in the rank of captain, they are the "most common" senior officers. They lead multiple squads and may be the most senior officers in a colony, only bellow a Castellan. They can be seen with a wide array of weapons, but are usually seen with swords and close ranged weapons, complementing their squad's capabilities in a melee fashion.

  • Kasrkin are stormtroopers and the elite of the Cadian forces. They execute precision strikes, boarding actions, and deep infiltration, while clad carapace armor and equipped with advanced weaponry. Make of these your best pawns and special strike team. They are often seen using the the might Hellgun.

  • Cadian castellan, these are high-level officers, and acts as regimental commanders. There should be a single castellan per one or more regiments, so they should be alone in their tier on your colony. Although often not engaging in combat, the Castellan should receive elite and high quality weapons.

  • Sanctioned psykers are all members with psyker power in your colony, they are usually hated even among the ranks of a regiment, as they are in essence ticking bombs. There isn't a limited number of psykers to any regiment. They channel their psy powers via their force staffs.

  • Commissars come in their own inner ranks, with a regiment having one or more attached Commissars. They are moral guides who keep regiments in line through fear, strength and power. A bolt pistol or a chain sword w

  • Militarium enginseer, as highly trained members of the Cult Mechanicus, they maintain the mechanics and electronics of their regiments. If you use servitors, the enginseer would be the one commanding and maintaining these.

  • Ministorum priests take care of the faith and resolve of the troops, from a religious aspect. They might be armed with an Eviscerator or other chain weapons.

I think the dev CE version has updated patches for a some of the Grimworld mods, but youll have to grab that from the github or wait for the steam version to be updated.

Stop using this mod if you want to setup apparel... it dont work with out system

I have the character editor mod and when I try to outfit the colonists the way I want them, most of the backpacks are having errors "Apparel not compatible_Texture missing" or something along those lines is what its telling me but the imperial guard clothes, weapons and utilities seem fine its just the backpacks themselves giving me grief and I really want to apply them to my pawns.

Anyone got a work around or a fix for this?

Yes, beacuse Vanilla Expanded laser code makes any beam igniting enemies, which makes chaos on battlefield. We decided to make it bolts like in Dawn of War 4 trailer :)
