Research Reinvented: Stepping Stones

描述
A companion mod for Research Reinvented that modifies the vanilla research tree to one with a more discreet, logical progression.

Research Reinvented is recommended, but not required.

You can see the new tech tree in the images above.
In text form, the full list of changes would be too long, so here's some highlights!
  • Electricity project is now split into Heating elements, Dynamos, Electricity (basics) and Circuitry.
  • A set of semi-auto generated early techs that will start out unlocked, unless you get a no tech start mod.
  • Every vanilla technology now has one or more logical precursor(s). No more orphan techs.
  • Some techs are earlier in the tree, some later, as befitting the difficulty of the science involved.
  • Techs later in the tech tree now have higher tech levels. Nothing Industrial about Archogenetics here.
  • Many techs now require specific other techs, instead of branching directly off Electricity, Microelectronics, Multi-Analyzer or Fabrication.
  • Organ and limb implantation surgeries are now gated behind some early medical technologies, because being able to perform a heart transplant without any research whatsoever is a bit goofy. This one is a bit controversial, so there is an option in the settings to disable it.

Hey brotha, could you change the VFE Tribals research spot patch to not remove the def, but instead remove its designation category and strip its research requirements? It throws (harmless) errors on some of my modextensions when the building is missing and i'd like to keep this mod able to be used alongside my stuff by folks who want clean logs

When I start as a tribe with VFE Tribal, I have RR_BasicCraftingFacilities already researched. How can I change that?

Idk if it's possible from you, but could you add a patch or something so loincloths and chest wraps from UnderWhere aren't locked behind any research?
Or maybe just behind organization?
Vanilla Expanded Tribals kinda muddies that up a bit, getting full clothes before just simple coverings.

@PeteTimesSix Yeah, I'm an idiot. I had Completely Clueless installed when I did my first two attempts which removed them.

@veoba That's all because Combat Extended changes/removes those defs before Stepping Stones get there. Given that CE's not officially done for 1.6 yet, I've not written the necessary patches to handle it yet either.

@Lemniscate_Mike This is intentional and also the case with just VEF: Tribals. Because you need campfires to do the brainstorming ritual.

@MR. Pickle Chips Surgery gating can be configured in the settings. The relevant techs are Simple apparel, Prosthetics and Penoxycyline on normal, and Medicinal herbs, Complex clothing and Drug production on easy.
