LoW - Dragon Legion

Sup y'all, it's ya boi bringing out a quick BETA of the original Dragon Legion mod from WH2.

This version has some changes compared to the original, some to the units themselves, some new added buildings, changes to the original Dragon Princes units, the biggest change is that the Dragon Legion Corsairs submod is now integrated into the main mod since the units fit well enough(minus the Cold Knights which were removed for now). Other units were removed since they were redundant or cluttered the roster.

Now that that is out of the way see below to know exactly what this mod offers:


Adding a new type of lord to the High Elf roster the Dragonlord is a more offensive oriented melee lord type, with some new skills in the mix allowing you to pick and choose from a wider variety compared to the vanilla lords. His unique tree is similar to Imrik's and allows him to buff Dragon Princes and dragons.
In addition to the expected steed the Dragonlord has 3 Dragon mounts, however he can only pick one of these after which the other ones are locked, fear not however as each of them are equal in strenght and choosing one merely has a different set of stats and specialized role. As a bonus whenever you choose to ditch the dragon mount and head to battle on foot or steed the dragon mount can still be summoned to aid as a independent unit.
The Dragonlord can be recruited by every major High Elf faction.

Infantry:

• Spearmen, Swordsmen, Archers and Shielded Archers. Pretty self explanatory units, can be recruited at the Caledorian Rallying Fields early for Imrik and in the Dragon's Lair chain for the other High Elf factions.
  
• Dragon Corsairs are quickly recruited from ports, they come as a wielding dual swords or armed with sword and handbows.
  
• Dragon Marines are quickly recruited from Tier 3 ports, equipped with shields and repeater crossbows.
  
• Dragon Arbalests are ranged heavy hitters equipped with armour piercing crossbows, the drawback to their powers is a short range and being incapable of arching shoots, meaning they need a clear line of fire to unleash their potential.
  
• Dragon Guard are the equivalent of the Phoenix Guard, recruitable as halberdiers or equipped with halberds/bows. With armour piercing melee and ranged piercing magical missiles on par with Sisters of Avelorn but with a shorter range.
  
• Dragon Swordmasters are just Swordmasters made to fit the army, a bit stronger than the vanilla counterpart.

Cavalry:

• Dragon Knights are basically Dragon Princes cavalry made to fit the rest of the army. They come in 2 variants Lances and Swords, specialized accordingly against large and infantry enemies.
  
• Caledorian Chariots are a hybrid unit that can engage very well in melee once it runs out of ammo harrassing and weakening the enemy.

Artillery:

• Dragon Bolt Thrower can fire flaming shoots and volleys of arrows, very effective against massed infantry.

All units will be recruited from the Dragon Lair chain starting at the new tier 3 building.

• Caledorian Palace it's a new building exclusive to Imrik aswell as the default Caledor faction, allowing the building and recruitment of Dragon Legion units much earlier than anyone else, since they are from Caledor. The building also combines the effect of the Court chains and Dragon Lair chain in one so you don't have to waste the already rare building slots, you will still require the default building for Technology unlocks.
  
• Legion Garrison Provides a garrison of the mod's units and some different effects from the vanilla walls such as siege attrition reduction and ammunition for the garrison.

• The Dragon Lair building chain has a new tier 3 added to it to allow the new units to be better spread across the tiers and not clutter the UI aswell.
  
• The Dragon Princes cavalry unit from vanilla has been buffed since their role and stats has been put on the Dragon Knights. Speed, unit mass, weapon strenght, melee attack/defense, hp, costs have been changed to make them a tier 5 unit not and overpriced tier 3 one.
  
• The Fireborn regiment of renown has also been slighty buffed.
  
• Imrik has a new ability that allows him to summon his dragon as an independent unit when he's isn't mounted, much like the Dragonlords can.

• Units will scale with Dragon Princes lord/tech skills, ammo count/damage for missile units uses the skills and tech for archers but uses only the buffs for missile damage/range or ammunition, other stats will get boosted by whatever affects Dragon Princes tech/skills.
  
• Imrik gets a faction specific perk of having a unique building and being able to recruit these units earlier than anyone else. Suck it Tyrion.
  
• These units are only available to the major vanilla High Elves factions, it will not work with smaller ones you might be playing with unlockers.
  
• As of now the AI will not recruit these new units, this is intentional but will be changed later.

Screenshoots have been taken back in WH2 and since CA changed their textures method and other graphic stuff they will look different in WH3. Will be updated to reflect WH3 soon.
