Mundum Vincere; a World to Conquer.

This mod is still a WIP.

Important!
Mod is made to be played on English version of the game with unit variation ON, and realistic color scheme ON. Advice can be turned on if you want scripted faction intros for Macedon and Sparta.

This mod is an overhaul for Rome Remastered, featuring Kirsi's Bigger Map, new units, new character names, new mechanics, and around 240 new factions, with most of the major ones playable.

Last pic is of the old map for comparison.

Features
272 BC start date
Danymok's units
Barbarian buildings from BI
Over 240 new factions
Massive campaign map
New soundtrack
Recruitable generals
Roman government & recruitment mechanics

Recommended Factions
Romans (Claudii, Fabii, Cornelii)
Lusitani (Spain)
Aetolian League (Greek Cities)
Armenia
Arverni (Gauls)
Carthage
Ptolemaic Egypt
Getae (Dacia)
Catuvellauni (Britons)
Macedon
Masaesyli (Numidia)
Odrysian Kingdom (Thrace)
Parthia
Pontus
Seleucid Empire
Suebians (Germans)
Athens
Bosporan Kingdom
Caledonians
Celtiberians
Cyrene
Epirus
Galatia
Illyria
Libya
Massalia
Nabataea
Pergamon
Saka
Sparta
Syracuse
Bactria
Boii
Kush
Maurya Empire
Saba

Since there are many new factions on the campaign map, you might find yourself besieged much more often, making the campaign a lot harder. It is recommended to play on easier difficulties

Most of the new factions have generic rosters due to the sheer number of factions, but there are some new units to fit the needs of certain regional factions. Most new factions lack unique faction colors.

Official Submods
Campaign Map Fog
Historical Senate
Less Aggressive Minor Factions
Rome 2 Music
Unified Romans

@Skald I'm just a player, my only asset being my experience with 95% of existing mods. Technically speaking, only gfront55 has the solution to the problems encountered. I know nothing about the balancing possibilities that could be implemented by removing this or that element, and I won't venture to comment further because I was abruptly banned from a forum accused of spreading misinformation. Yet, for the past 20 years, I've always been courteous and polite, simply pointing out my real difficulties; I was stunned. It's not easy to ask questions, make suggestions, or inform people who work hard for hours on certain problems... you'll see what gfront55 has to say if he's reading this

@GEGEJAMES agreed - Mundum Vincere is one of the best if not the best mod for this game. Still, downsizing the settelment count would do it good - be it for balance reason with managing huge empires or be it for technical reasons, so your whole gameplay will not stop at 200 turns because of game limitations. Less cities means less buildings, less money, less troops, less unedning sieges = Less chance for Late Game file corruption since there are way less objects on the map, which is btw still huge and still nicely done. Wouldn't it be great to march with your army to the next city as it was before instead of besieging the unending chain of villages every turn?

@Skald… Hello, what can I say??? A fan since the very beginning, over 20 years ago, I've tried everything, and it's only been a source of pleasure and frustration for me. There are complex technical limitations. The IMPERIUM SURRECTUM team is working tirelessly to resolve them for a major update in 2026. (They're supposed to have stabilized their game.) But it's a whole team of passionate people sharing the workload. So why do others release such complex and rich mods knowing full well that the player will never be able to finish the game? It's a complex question. For me, the only thing that kept me from giving up is that all these mod creators saved the Total War universe, of which I'm a huge fan. The Creative Assembly team, in complete disarray, should have taken inspiration from their ideas, like Gfront55's, a long time ago.

@GEGEJAMES same here. The question is why have so many settelments? It's possible to save the same huge map, but reduce the settelment number like in half - by cutting the rebel settelments at the map edge in russua and africa, and also deleting the sensless villages on small islands in the mediterranian. Even the hardland villages count could be decreased if wanted, but for some reason modders think that if they put each and every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with 300 people in it on the map, their mod will be better. No offense meant to the autor, but that is what frustrates me the most, why adding even more of those if you know that nobody will play it till the end since it's just impossible. Like wat's the endgoal, if no fully playable version will be out? I've heard that IMPERIUM SURRECTUM plan to downsize it the next update. Maybe other modders shall do so as well...

Hello Gfront 55
Well... (just FYI, no offense or misinformation intended) I can't reload my game on turn 224... same problem encountered with all the other mods that are well-developed, rich in maps, factions, etc... your mod is really good... I rank it second only to IMPERIUM SURRECTUM, but like the latter, you can't get very far (unless I'm mistaken, you have that darn save corruption problem).

Still after turn 1 playing any fraction (catuvellauni for example) I get as a protectorates: cornelii, selecuids, egypt, macedon, suebi and argos. Some 1 player script is bugged.

@gfront55 Hi again!
idk if you wanted it this way, but all Spartan hoplites use "phalangities" animation instead of "hoplite" animations. just FYI in case you'll want to change it

Does this have Area of Recruitment units at all?
WalshMeister 11 月 2 日 下午 4:15
gotcha. Thanks, I would recommend a guide somewhere in case idiots like me ask this question of you. Still a good mod in the end. Now I will beat off Carthage vigorously, while maintaining eye contact.

Nope I changed it back to just needing a huge city in Italy, with the Punic War Gladii reforms as another prereq
