Description
Intro

Planter and Kitchen blocks are made functional and allows to grow and cook food respectively.
Bar counter blocks are made functional as containers for consumables and food products.
Wheat, Soya, Vegetables, Apple, Mushroom and Herb farm blocks are added. Thanks Kuvat for awesome models!
Custom Kitchen reskin is added. This allows to use the mod without DLC.
Comsposter block added that allows creating more Organics from grown plants, giving ability to farm in space and planets with no grass. (Expanding functionality of composter block in Algae mod)

No Script version is available, without integration with ESDR stat mechanics.

How to get Organics

Organics is ore type that is required for growing various plants in Farming blocks.
There are several ways to get Organics:

- Mine grass in planets. This will work in vanilla planets and some modded planets, depending of what voxel types they use. (Teal and Exolia planets are integrated)

- Use your own body to convert food to Organics in toilet/bathroom. If you do not have DLC with toilet block, you can use various mods adding toilets, like MA Admiral Suite.

- Use Composter block to make Organics from farmed plants. It will make twice the Organics used to grow plant in Farming block. So you can make more and more Organics repeating grow/compost process. Algae from Algae mod can be also composted in this block.
!WARNING! Composter works like Refinery and will automatically pull all your crop to make Organics out of it. Be careful connecting it to conveyor system without sorter blocks.

- Buy Organics in Miners Economy Stations.


How to make food and drinks

- Make can of water in Assembler or Emergency Ration Production Unit using Iron and Ice.

- Hunt Wolves/Spiders to get meat. Some modded animals also drops meat (like Earthlike animals)

- Search Unknown Signal drops and Economy stations for wheat, apples, etc to use them as a seed to grow more.

- Build Planters or Farming blocks to grow food. They work in the same way as Assemblers. See what items you need and put those to the block inventory (i.e. Ice, Organics, etc).

- Build either one of the Kitchen blocks to make food out of ingredients. These blocks also works like Assembler.

- You can sell raw food products in Economy stations. This gives a reason to farm and hunt more than you need to survive.

This mod integrates with Eat. Drink. Sleep. Repeat! stat mechanics.

For offers to appear in Economy stations and drop pods, "Plant and Cook" mod needs to be higher in list of game mods than "Eat. Drink. Sleep. Repeat!"

FAQ

- Does this work with Daily Needs?

No. This mod has entirely different implementation, no integration with Daily Needs is possible.

- No plants appear in Drop Pods or Economy stations.

"Plant and Cook" mod needs to be higher in list of game mods than "Eat. Drink. Sleep. Repeat!". Also higher than any mod that makes changes in Drop Pods or Economy Stations offers.

Either this mod or Eat, Drink, Sleep, Repeat is broken by Apex update. On the DIE-Enduur server of Sigma Draconis group I couldn't see any effect from eating/drinking on the hud. And wouldn't know if I was low on those stats.

So, you might want to keep the mod on incase the mod creator intends to provide a fix for Apex. But I would suggest for the near time to use Apex food alongside Eat Drink Sleep Repeat and Plant&Cook if you want to stay alive. Until someone pick up fixing it.

While the new mechanics already has vegetables, fruit, grain, and mushrooms - which largely covers covers this mod, I would still like to use at least the soy beans and tofu to add new ingredients and new meal packs. It would also be great if the herb grower could be made an airtight hydroponics block - say, one that is slower to work than the normal farm plots, but can be used in a non-pressurized compartment. Am even smaller, slower version of it and the composter model could be made 3x3x3 small grid Hydroponics and Irrigation blocks for small grid... (which, along with the Algaetechnology small blocks would be helpful).

alas, I have found Plant and Cook doesn't work with Apex, Apex overrides the mechanics but PaC along with Eat, drink, sleep repeat, override the HUD UI so the now vanilla food mechanics work, but you can't see them, you've to remove PaC and EDSR. i was hoping that they would be compatible as in PaC food satiating vanilla stats, but presently no. so alas, i have had to remove it. hopefully this gets patched. i liked the idea of having more than just the new APEX food stuffs to work with.

if this still works i'm gonna try using this to add decorations to my base (since i have no DLC and even if i did i cant find any plants)
