I was a bit annoyed by the mess the chat was when played on my ship or something appeared behind the chat or even in case there was just bright sky behind it, the font, although very matching to the game's artstyle didn't help making chat easier to read either, so I decided to make a little, simple mod changing the way chat looks like in the game. Here are the changes I decided to make and you can find in Chat 2.0:

- Dark background for better readability,
- White text when typing,
- Toned down, but pleasant to look at text colors,
- Extended time of chat box and bubble visibility,
- Chat history has been increased several hundread times,
- Chat bubbles are slightly wider now,
- Significantly increased chat box height,
- Vibrant, colorful chat box tabs names,
- Reorganized tabs,
- Cooler tabs names,
- And finally a brand new, more readable font.

Could be more, but I may have forgotten to list them. Can't help it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tried to unsub, but then starbound kept crashing untill i resubbed to the mod. Probably should put a warning about that in the description untill fixed

Edit: The custom font was working for the damage numbers but not the game, chat and UI itself. To fix this, either the .pak file was moved to the mods folder or a symbolic link was created to it. It now works as intended.

Oddly enough, even without AnomNom's patch the font that comes along with this mod is no longer working. Tested both on Windows and Linux builds of the game, and double checked that the patch is not even installed nor loaded by Steam.

Don't use with Frackin' Interfacem you will get chat locked, meaning you can't type anything into the chatbar unless you restart. It's just a cycle of restarting at that point.

you have said Extended time of chat box and bubble. please may i ask what you increased them to please as i am dyslexic and am finding it hard to read the chat box in time 10 to 12 seconds would be great

can we change the size of the chat box? why someone would like half of the screen being chat box? look at the picture, its horrible

For some reason, Its not changing my Fonts. is there a known reason for doing that?
The Chat box size also isnt increasing at all, all its doing for me, is changing the tab colours. and the chat bubbles
