I played Starbound a long time ago (before the space police update or whatever), and finished it.

Then I started another run in a more recent update, using Frackin Universe. I gotta say I quite enjoyed the mod, it added a lot of complex systems to farm. Maybe it's because I enjoy Minecraft Kitchen Sink modpacks, where there's ton of stuff to discover but little connection between all the systems.

Now I wanted to play the game again, but I noticed there's a lot of hate towards Frackin Universe these days. Lots of people saying we should avoid it at all costs. I know there's some kind of drama I'm not interested in, but even ignoring that, many people say it just bloats the game adding lots of unnecessary grind. I'm not sure I agree, but anyways, I thought that maybe I should try something different this time.

So, what would you guys recommend? Are there any other similar total overhauls? Something that adds lots of content to the game without having to install 100 separate mods? I really don't like micromods, I'm more into total conversions or big overhauls.
